Brookside studies the sea

SOPHIA FISCHER/Acorn Newspapers ON THE BEACH- Brookside Elementary School students in Paula Stromquist's fourth-grade class learn about local wildlife and wetlands at Malibu Lagoon recently. The Oak Park students helped to test the salinity and quality of the marsh water. Malibu Lagoon is undergoing a major restoration project to improve the polluted wetland ecosystem.
