Agoura Hills Boy Scout earns Eagle Scout rank

Active in hiking and camping

Cameron Kinney Cameron Kinney Cameron Kinney from Agoura High School was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout at a May 13 recognition dinner at the Ronald Reagan Library.

Only 2 percent of the boys who enter Scouts are able to achieve the high ranking.

Kinney, from Explorer Crew No. 2766 and sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, rebuilt a fence at the Peter Strauss Ranch parking lot as part of his Eagle service project.

Highlights of his scout experience included the completion of a 50-hike in the High Sierra Mountains and camping on Catalina Island.
