Culinary classes for all

Series presents cooking as art

Chef Alberto Vazquez of Mediterraneo restaurant in Westlake Village will host the restaurant's Culinary Arts Series for children and adults at the restaurant, 32037 Agoura Road, Westlake Village.

Adults' classes will be held at 2 and 6 p.m. Children's classes will be at 11 a.m. for ages 5 to 8 and 2 p.m. for ages 9 to 12.

Tuition for adults is $70 for one class, $135 for two or $195 for all three classes. Children's tuition is $45 per class.

Adult classes are:

•Sat., June 28: Master Your Grill includes basic grilling methods, spice rubs, marinades, herbal infusion for seafood, basting, backyard vegetable grilling, grilled dessert and grilled steaks and seafood.

•Thurs., July 10: Cooking Healthy at Home includes "Bloody Mary" shrimp hors d'oeuvres, grilled portobello mushroom with wild arugula, seared ahi tuna with cannelloni bean ragu and wild berries with mint granita. Registered dietician Jerrod Libonati will speak to the class.

•Wed., July 23: The World of Salads includes basic fundamentals of salad, healthy decisions, using unusual greens and herbs, and ingredients and components for the optimal salad.

Children's classes are:

•Sat., July 12: Easy Pizza Party includes tossandgo Caesar salad, easy cheesy pizza with toppings and a brownie fruit pizza.

•Thurs., July 17: Wrap It Up includes fresh and fruity kabobs, turkey grab-and-go wrap sandwich, Tiny Roman's chicken Caesar wrap sandwich and warm chocolate chip cookies.

•Sat., Aug. 2: Mama Mia Pasta Mia includes "Yummy in My Tummy" marinara, "Awesome and Cool" macaroni and cheese, Chef Alberto's pasta alfredo and caffeine-free tiramisu.
