Citizen input helps make project better

A huge "thank you" to all the Liberty Canyon residents who packed the Agoura Hills Council Chamber last Wednesday night for the hearing concerning the appeal of the planning commission decision to approve the Liberty Canyon Center. Over 25 people spoke to voice their criticisms of the project as proposed. Many others attended to support them.

In a meeting that lasted until after midnight, the Council voted to ask the architects to redesign to the project to save the specimen oak tree on Liberty Canyon Boulevard.

Other concerns voiced by city council members included the widening of Liberty Canyon Boulevard, the color of the buildings and the protection of the wildlife corridor.

The public hearing was continued to Aug. 13 to give the developer time to make changes to the proposal. Joan Yacovone Agoura Hills Yacovone is the secretary of the Liberty Canyon Homeowners Association
