Home Buying School Offers Free Class In Thousand Oaks

The Home Buying School.org has added additional classes to the current schedule of free classes. The next class will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wed., June 25 at the Goebel Senior Center, 1385 E Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. The class is open to all ages. There are no sales, and the class is free.

The purpose of the class is to inform participants of the importance of creating a plan for homeownership, as well as making consumers aware of safe, fixed financing options available in the county. Current market conditions will also be addressed.

Many hundreds of households have benefited from the free services offered by The Home Buying School. Classes include the benefits of home ownership; an overview of sources for city, state and federal down payment funds; and closing cost assistance. Services also include free credit and FICO score review, household budgeting, as well as assistance in creating a plan to move toward home ownership.

The Home Buying School.org is a free, nongovernment service organization and educational resource created to provide information on the importance of planning for and taking steps to achieve home ownership. The mission of The Home Buying School.org is to reach out to the widest possible population to educate individuals and families about the longterm advantages of homeownership and to direct these individuals to the safest programs available to help with the financing of a home.
