Megan Cup to benefit diabetes research

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation-Los Angeles Chapter will hold its inaugural Megan Cup Celebrity Golf Classic at 11 a.m. Mon., June 16 at Calabasas Country Club, 4515 Park Entrada, Calabasas.

The Megan Cup is named after the granddaughter of Gene Axelrod, a supporter of the foundation, who was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 18 months old. She is now 14.

An awards dinner and entertainment will follow the tourney. Celebrities confirmed to attend include Sugar Ray Leonard, Scott Wolf, Kevin Sorbo, Kevin Nealon, Paul Glaser, Eddie Cibrian, Todd Zelie, Wayne Gretzky, Gary Sinese, Cameron Daddo, Dr. Phil McGraw and Matt Davis.
