Agoura Hills offers summer classes in drama, dance, dog training

The Agoura Hills Department of Community Services has announced its upcoming events.

Unless otherwise noted, all programs will take place at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center, 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd. For more information on any event, call (818) 597-7361.

•Basic and continuing dog obedience classes will be offered for participants ages 16 and older.

Basic Dog Obedience will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturdays from June 28 to Aug. 9. The class will cover leash manners, heel, sit, stay, come when called and other basic commands.

Continuing Dog Obedience will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturdays from June 28 to Aug. 9. The class will expand on basic commands. Participants must have completed any basic dog obedience class.

•KidStage, a drama class for children ages 6 to 11, will be held from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. Wednesdays from July 7 to Aug. 6. Participants will learn acting exercises and theater games. Cost is $75.

•A swing and fox trot dance class for adults will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Fridays from June 27 to Aug. 8. No previous dance experience or partner required. Cost is $45.

•Guitar workshops for teens and adults will be offered Saturdays from June 28 to Aug. 23. Classes for ages 10 to 17 will be held from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Classes for ages 18 and older will be from 5 to 5:50 p.m.

Both classes are for beginning to intermediate students. Cost is $85, plus a $15 nonrefundable lab fee.

•Registrations for other summer classes are being accepted. Classes include dance, art, sports, cooking, fitness, fencing, yoga and Pilates.
