Sagebrush Casino Night will benefit seniors

EngAGE: the Art of Active Aging (formerly More Than Shelter for Seniors), a nonprofit organization that provides programs for older adults, will host its second annual Casino Night on Wed., June 11 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Sagebrush Cantina, 23527 Calabasas Road, Calabasas.

The event will feature poker, blackjack, craps and roulette as well as a live auction, raffle, food and a no-host bar.

The top raffle prize will be "Fighter Pilot for a Day" in which the winner may train for aerial dog fights at Air Combat USA.

The live auction will include a weekend getaway fishing trip on a private yacht, art, jewelry and sporting event tickets.

The event will also honor Arnold Bresky, a Calabasasarea physician, for his many years of service to older adults and people of all ages.

Bresky's interest is in memory enhancement for seniors. He has perfected the "Brain Tune-Up" program, a multidisciplinary system to combat memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Tickets for the event are $100, which buys gaming chips, food and a raffle ticket for the grand prize package.

All proceeds from the event will benefit EngAGE's creativity, educational, wellness and intergenerational programs for seniors.

EngAGE is a nonprofit provider of life-enhancing programs to seniors in affordable apartment communities in many Southern California communities.
