Agoura's Stock named MVP

The Agoura High baseball team handed out its season awards at the program's annual banquet on May 28.

Catcher Richard Stock, a junior, was the team MVP after batting .432 while hitting six home runs in his last seven games.

Junior Garrett Aries was the Pitcher of the Year. Aries beat Westlake and Moorpark, among others, while throwing three complete games.

Shortstop Jamie Flanagan was named Defensive Player of the Year, while outfielder Ali Hamed took home the coaches' award.

Agoura had 11 scholarathletes on its spring roster: Matt Aronow, Kenneth McCroskery, Sam Yarin, Trevor Seck, Bill Sharp, Shane Crofts, Tyler Coleman, Tyler Brennen, Aries, Stock and Flanagan.
