Senior receives full scholarship from Disney
      Sidney Primas, 19, a senior at Westlake High School, was named as the 2008 the Walt Disney Company Foundation Scholarship recipient. The scholarship awards full tuition for four years of undergraduate studies at any accredited college or university in either business administration or fine arts.

      From the moment children enter kindergarten at Heschel West Day School in Agoura Hills, art becomes a vehicle for learning. Kindergarten teachers Karen Lepp and Loren Puterman use art throughout the day to teach spelling, math and other fundamental subjects.

Auditions for summer theater camp coming up
      Stages Performing Arts, a nonprofit summer theater camp for children ages 7 through 15, will present "The Music Man Jr." on July 24 to 26 at the Smothers Theatre at Pepperdine University in Malibu. Auditions for the camp will be by appointment in Newbury Park on Sat., May 31 and Sun., June 1.

      Triunfo YMCA will offer summer day camp and summer school camp to campers entering kindergarten through eighth grade. The Y serves Agoura Hills, Oak Park and Westlake Village. The Y also offers a counselorintraining program for youths entering ninth grade and up.

Patricia Kokinos honored for 'Angel Park'
      Former Oak Park High School assistant principal Patricia Kokinos will be featured at Book Expo America from Fri., May 30 to Sun., June 1 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Kokinos' book, "Angel Park," has won a silver seal in the Nautilus Book Awards.
