Hypocrisy over trees and other things

I'd like to take issue with several letters published in The Acorn last week.

First, those writers who feel that the Hillel brothers should not have removed a tree from their property did not read or understand the editor's comment about the trees that used to live on the lot where the writers' houses currently stand.

If the writers gave the issue any thought, they would see their hypocrisy. Get over it, people. Do what you want with the trees on your property, and if you don't like what someone does with theirs, buy the land from them or quit whining. Better yet, why not knock down your house and put in a wooded park? That would be a nice gesture.

To the writer who took issue with Lindero Canyon Middle School's "work program," do you honestly think that using educational activities as a punishment is a good idea? Do you really want your son to associate reading with punishment? It is far better for your son to learn that poor performance in school may result in a career of picking up someone else's trash.
