Oak Park schools need Measure C
      Friends of Oak Park Schools, an education foundation would like to urge the voters of Oak Park to vote yes on Measure C which is the continuation of the parcel tax passed four years ago. This tax represents $197 per year which is equivalent to $16.42 per month per household (parcel).

No parcel tax means schools will suffer
      Oak Park residents did a wonderful thing back in 2004. The voters passed a school funding measure that allows the school district to go a step beyond the state's funding. This measure passed by an overwhelming 81 percent.

Can't find fault with Measure C
      So what's all this buzz about Measure C? Another tax to make up the state's shortfall? A way for the district to pay for administrative costs? If I don't have kids in the system, I shouldn't have to pay it- right? Basically, what's in it for me?

      Every day last week held surprises, raffles and treats for the teachers at Medea Creek Middle School. The Parent Faculty Club put on another outstanding Teacher Appreciation Week, which culminated with a delicious Western BBQ luncheon served by our incredible "cowpoke" moms.

Urine trouble
      This letter for submission is in response to "Here's the scoop about dogs." I've thought about it and there actually is a chemical difference between human urine and dog urine. Depending on what the dog/human ingests, what shows up in the urine is variable.

Hypocrisy over trees and other things
      I'd like to take issue with several letters published in The Acorn last week. First, those writers who feel that the Hillel brothers should not have removed a tree from their property did not read or understand the editor's comment about the trees that used to live on the lot where the writers' houses currently stand.
