      The Chaparral Elementary School Parent Faculty Club in Calabasas is holding its ninth annual auction online. The auction site at chaparralauction.cmarket.com opened for bidding on May 8 and will close at 11 p.m. on May 16.

Resident earns degree
      Aimee Laura Blank of Calabasas will receive her Master of Science degree in communication disorders and sciences with an emphasis on speech and language pathology from Cal State Northridge's College of Health and Human Development.

Agoura High to host college workshop for parents
      Agoura High School will host a college workshop for parents on Tues., May 20 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the G building. College admissions counselor and author Danny Ruderman will offer tips and strategies on how students can showcase their strengths for admittance into private universities and colleges in the UC system.

Future scientists unite
     TOP STUDENTS- The finalists in the Red Oak Elementary School science bee are, from left, Ryan Harris, Lynn Wang, Kevin Lu, Russell Tagawa and Sumant Iyer. All fifth-graders at the Oak Park school participated in the science Q and A competition. Kevin also is the school's top speller having placed first in a regional competition.

Expanding the classroom
     GREAT OUTDOORS- Eight Las Virgenes Unified School District elementary schools enjoy the new venue for the fifth-grade outdoor education program. Students stayed at King Gillette Ranch, formerly Soka University, and studied science and nature in the Santa Monica Mountains. The week-long outings began in February.

Oak Park students chosen for conference
      Two students from Oak Park's Gifted And Talented Education program will attend the 10th annual GATE Leadership Conference this weekend, Thurs., May 15 to Sat., May 17. Michael Ebert, 13, and Anish Puri, 14, were selected by conference organizers to represent Oak Park at the two-day regional event. They both attend Medea Creek Middle School.
