      Livingston Memorial Foundation of Westlake Village his presented grants totaling $406,000 to 33 Ventura County nonprofit organizations for medical and health-related issues during its 2007-2008 grant year.

      The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has released the 2008 California Food Guide, a nutrition resource designed to promote healthy eating habits and physical activity. DHCS director Sandra Shewry called the online guide an important tool to help address health and nutritional issues facing Californians today.
