Ride service shows off nice wheels The city of Agoura Hills will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and public preview of its new fleet of Dial-A-Ride vans on Mon., May 19 at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center, 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd., from 11 a.m. until p.m.. Five new 2008 Chevy Uplanders, equipped with stateoftheart safety and comfort features, will go into service on June 1. The vans have low floors for easy boarding and two of the vehicles are fully wheelchair accessible with ramps. The preview will feature demonstrations, a ceremonial first ride, and light refreshments. The "History of Agoura Hills: Traveling Timeline Exhibit" will also be open for viewing at the event. Visitors will learn about the Dial-A-Ride community service transportation program and the upcoming expanded service which will begin this summer. The city's DialARide program is open to all residents of Agoura Hills and welcomes residents who do not drive, who desire an alternative to paying high gas prices, or who wish to "go green" through community carpooling. The cost is $1 per ride. |
