Calabasas offers summer teen classes The city of Calabasas Community Services Department will offer summer programs for teens at De Anza Park, 3701 Lost Hills Road, Calabasas. •A baby-sitting class for youth ages 11 to 15 will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sat., May 31. Participants will learn the business of babysitting, family interviews, problem-solving skills, telephone safety, ageappropriate toys, household safety, baby care basics and first aid. Class fee is $40,with $25 materials fee. •A free summer VolunTEEN program for teens ages 13 to 17 will run from Mon., June 23 to Fri., Aug. 8. The program will give teens on-the-job experience. Participants will volunteer in recreational classes, camps, sports programs, Chamber of Commerce, Creekside Preschool and others. For more information on either program, call (818) 8806461. |
