We want to briefly explain what Oak Park's Measure C is for those of you who haven't had time to read up on it. It is simply a continuation of the current parcel tax we are now paying that was passed four years ago (with a resounding 81 percent yes vote by our community). More ... This top quality medical program has been part of the local community for the past ten years. Now, suddenly, it is canceled a few weeks before the June 7 event date. More ... We are paying $46.7 billion every year for the translation of foreign languages for nonEnglish speaking people. This is because of Bill Clinton's Executive Order 13166 requiring government agencies to do the above or lose federal funding. That money should be used for our children's schooling. What kind of future are we leaving them? More ... A huge thank you to all of those who participated in the Big Sunday Book Drive on Sat., May 4. With the committed support of the Oak Park Unified School District, the community was able to collect more than 3,000 books for all ages from preschool to 12th grade, which were donated to Oxnard schools in need.
