Raising awareness for diabetes

Riders may sign up to participate in the Tour de Cure Bike Ride, a fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association, scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Sun., May 18 at Thousand Oaks Community Park next to the Thousand Oaks High School, 2323 N. Moorpark Road.

Riders will choose from one of three different courses,including a 62-mile run through Simi Valley, Newbury Park and Westlake Village. Last year the Tour de Cure had more than 300 riders and friends, and raised $150,000 for promoting diabetes care, education and advocacy in Southern California and to funding research.
