An insensitive use of words

I am absolutely appalled by Mr. Keeler's letter in last weeks Acorn where he referred to a member of Calabasas City staff as a "small rude man."

It is unnecessary to have to describe anyone by their physical attributes, and to do so in such a context is just plain degrading. It is bad enough that children are teased for being a little different, whether that be short, tall, fat or skinny; but what kind of place do we live in where adults show a similar lack of maturity and do the same.

Mr. Keeler should feel embarrassed for his immaturity. As a man of smaller stature myself, I am offended by his remark. It is inappropriate for anyone to make degrading comments towards another individual's physical appearance. I am also disappointed that The Acorn would run such a letter, as it is against policy which states that "If the writer is on an unending vendetta to disgrace or belittle somebody else or a particular entity, we'll stop printing the article."

Mr. Keeler's comment, "small rude man," is clearly belittling, no pun intended.
