Fundraiser helps fund tree planting in Israel
     IRIS SMOOT/Acorn Newspapers DANCE FOR JOY- From left, Encino residents Etai Ghotzi, 4; his aunt Orit Wolf, and cousin Ben Wolf, 3, dance with Tarzana resident Nily Avidah and West Los Angeles resident Moshe Vakneen during the Jewish National Fund's GoNeutral Walk, formerly the Walk for Water, at Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills on Sunday. Funds raised from the 3K/5K walk will go toward planting trees in Israel. The event also included a magic show, crafts, and live entertainment.

Armenian church now meeting in Thousand Oaks
      The Armenian Apostolic Church of Ventura will meet at noon Sun., April 20 at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church at One Church Road, Thousand Oaks. After the service a presentation will be led by filmmaker Dr. J. Michael Hagopian in remembrance of the Armenian Genocide. The event is open to the public.

National Day of Prayer slated
      The Southeast Ventura County YMCA is hosting the ninth annual National Day of Pryaer on thurs., May 1 at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza, 880 S. Westlake Blvd. Registration and complimentary continental breakfast will be from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. The program follows from 7 to 8:30 a.m.
