      Regarding the opinion piece, "Letters to the editor are important," March 27, it is the second time in the last few months that in your opinion section you are threatening to enforce the 300 words rule. Please don't- let the crazies speak loud and clear.

A good sign
      I wish to compliment whoever is responsible and designed the exquisite and classy sign just completed indicating "130 Mae Boyer Simi Parks & Recreation Department" located at Conifer and Kanan roads. I watched it being built and now at its completion it is a first-class item.

Some shelter dogs are mislabeled
      I am confused as to the source of this statement recently in The Acorn : "Aggressive breeds such as pit bulls are sometimes difficult to find homes for." Hopefully Denise Rosen didn't make this statement. It would be inappropriate for an animal shelter manager to express a bias by labeling a certain breed "aggressive.

Parent groups urge outcry over school budget
      As the presidents representing all Parent Faculty Associations/Clubs in the Las Virgenes Unified School District, we are gravely concerned about the impending state budget cuts. Our district has met all fiscal requirements established by the state regarding reserve levels and prudent financing.
