Heschel playground ready

The Heschel West school has completed the redmodeling and installation of a new front play yard on its Liberty Canyon campus.

The work includes slides, climbing structures, upper arm loops, sand boxes and a basketball-like structure with hoops for ball games.

Much of the cost of the project was obtained through school fundraisers. Waste Management partnered with Heschel and provided nearly $5,000 in free goods and services.

The equipment was chosen and purchased through Dave Bang and Associates, and the work was done by Premium Construction.

A March 31 ribbon-cutting at the playground is being planned.

The equipment will eventually be moved to Heschel West's new campus being planned near Agoura Hills, a school official said.

Parents Kristin Brenner, Karen Daniels, Kim Cavallo, Sheri Raft, Stefanie Friedman and Laurie Eisenberg were instrumental in the project.
