Children describe Holi festival experience
      Holi, also known as "the festival of colors," is an Indian holiday that announces the arrival of spring and the end of winter for the Hindus. Holi was celebrated by the local Indian community at Oak Canyon Park in Oak Park on March 22. The festival was organized by Indian families and friends in Oak Park.

Fair photo contest open
      The Ventura County 4H Program and the Ventura County Fair will conduct their "Kids, Cameras and Crops" photography contest Sat., April 26 at the Hansen Agricultural Center. The contest is open to all county youth ages 9 to 18. It will begin with a presentation by Master Gardeners about photographing nature.

      The California Strawberry Festival is looking for volunteers to provide assistance at the festival Sat., May 17 and Sun., May 18 at 3250 S. Rose Ave., Oxnard. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Applications are available at www.strawberry-fest.org.

Rotary street fair set for April 13
      The Rotary Club of Westlake Village will host its 14th annual street festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sun., April 13 on Lakeview Canyon Road between Agoura and Watergate roads in Agoura. The festival will include raffles, food booths, musical entertainment, arts and crafts displays and children's activities.
