ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD- Aaron Ramirez and Lorraine Alderette receive honors for their contributions to HomeAid Los Angeles/Ventura. Lorraine Alderette from LL Development Partners and Aaron Ramirez from SME Construction Inc. received awards for outstanding contribution to HomeAid Los Angeles/Ventura, a nonprofit housing provider based in Westlake Village.

Ramirez took home the President's Award while Alderette received the TLC Award for tenacity, loyalty and commitment.

As one of the nation's leading providers of housing for the homeless, HomeAid builds and renovates multiunit residences to help those who are temporarily homeless get back on their feet, attain self-sufficiency and, in time, find suitable permanent housing.

To date, the organization has provided housing for more than 80,000 people who have become homeless.

The residences are built using the assistance of private builders.

"HomeAid has outstanding supporters, and presenting these awards was the least that could have been done to acknowledge two board members that shined," executive director Jennie Cowart said.
