Smalling has big plans
WHS swimmer pursuing Princeton, future Olympic Games
      If everything goes according to plan, Westlake High senior Aislinn Smalling will be attending Princeton this fall, pursuing a degree in neuroscience and psychology. She'll also be swimming for the Tigers while trying to qualify for future Olympic Games.

Former UCLA star to host youth basketball camp
McCarter helped Wooden earn 10th, final title
      Andre McCarter, the starting point guard on UCLA's national championship-winning men's basketball team in 1975, will host the Dr. Touch Spring Break Shooting and Ball Handling Camp March 24 through 28 at the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center.

AHS wins Ventura Volleyball Tournament
     CHARGER POWER- The Agoura High boys' varsity volleyball team won the Ventura Volleyball Tournament earlier this month. AHS was victorious in 13 consecutive games to edge out 23 other schools for the championship. Pictured, from left, are Tyler Brennan, Michael Hatch, Lars Dion-Kindem, Nat Thompson, Justin Kent, Jeff Alper, Adam Weiss, Ansel Rosenberg, Colin Davis, Aaron Fredgant, Jeff Herbst and Spencer Fosnaugh. Coach Marla O'Hara is kneeling. Thompson was the tournament MVP, while Brennan and Fredgant were All-Tournament selections.

Calabasas tennis squad remains mentally strong
      New leader, same results. Although the Calabasas High boys' tennis team has a new interim coach, Cleo Harper, the Coyotes just keep on winning. Entering today's match at Westlake High, Calabasas' record is 8-1 overall and 5-0 in the Marmonte League.

      With its best player hobbled by a high ankle sprain, on Tuesday night the Oak Park High boys' volleyball squad accomplished something it had never done before- the Eagles won a match at Oaks Christian.

Female golfer helping lead OPHS boys' team back to prominence
With Kang in the mix, Eagles' depth is tough to match
      Although the Oak Park High golf team hasn't won a TriValley League title in three years, head coach Bruce Beck believes the Eagles now have what it takes to return to the top. Led by three sophomores and a freshman, OPHS has gotten off to a promising start this season.

Hits keep coming for WHS
     JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers FAST START- Leadoff hitter Cutter Dykstra, above, and the Westlake High baseball team entered Wednesday's game at Newbury Park with a 5-2 overall record and a 2-0 mark in the Marmonte League. In its first two league games, WHS defeated Marmonte favorites Royal (7-0) and Thousand Oaks (8-6).
