KCLU welcomes new board members
      A Santa Barbara university dean has joined the KCLU Advisory Board. Charles McClintock has been the dean of the School of Human and Organization Development at Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara since 2001. Prior to that appointment, he was a professor and associate dean at Cornell University for 27 years.

Junior Chamber Music group to perform at The Globe Theater
      The Junior Chamber Music program will perform at the Sunday Salon at Two music series 2 p.m. Sun., April 6 at The Globe Theater, 1909 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga. The Junior Chamber Music provides professional coaching to music students ages 20 and younger from the greater Orange County and Los Angeles areas.

      Temple Beth Torah's fifth annual Ventura County Jewish Film Festival will open at 7 p.m. Thurs., April 3. Unless noted otherwise, all films will be shown at the Regency Buenaventura 6 Theater at the 101 Freeway and Telephone Road in Ventura.

Old time western barbecue on tap
      The Calabasas Historical Society is taking reservations for its Old Town Western Barbecue, which will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Sun., June 1 at the Leonis Adobe Museum, 23537 Calabasas Road, Calabasas. The annual fundraising event will feature a barbecue dinner provided by the Sagebrush Cantina, including a nohost bar.

      The Westlake High School girls' softball team will present "A Night of Comedy" fundraiser at 7 p.m. Sun., March 30 at The Canyon club, 28912 Roadside Drive, Agoura Hills. Performers will include Bruce Baum, The Unknown Comic, Vic Dunlop and Tim O'Rourke of The Drew Carey Show. Other comedians will be added.

Young rockers win again
     GREAT SOUNDS- JetStream band members, from left, Garrett Zeile, Kevin Grimmett, Ben Zelico and Jake Munk, celebrate their win in the Oak Park High School Battle of the Bands. The young musicians competed against seven other bands to win the title. The group also earned second place last December at the Global Battle of the Bands in London.

Malibu Wine Classic to showcase area wineries, restaurants
Event slated for April 5
      The fifth annual Malibu Wine Classic will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Sat., April 5 at the Malibu Civic Center, 23525 Civic Center Way, Malibu. The Wine Classic showcases wineries from Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles and Ventura counties as well as top Malibu and Los Angeles restaurants.
