You say 'Anza,' I say 'de Anza'
      There is no doubt that Col. Juan Bautista de Anza was a major historical figure in the development of California. It is a fact that he and his expedition of 240 colonists camped in Calabasas on Feb. 22, 1776.

What happened to Agoura's hills?
      It is sad and heartbreaking to see the development now going underway on what was a gentle and lovely grassy knoll at Reyes Abode and Old Agoura Road. I watched the wooden stakes going up and a crowd of people in nice suits walking down the hill smiling as they licked their chops in anticipation- people who clearly could not give a damn about Agoura Hills.

Roundabout is giving us the runaround
      The city of Agoura Hills does not appear to have its financial act together, spending money fighting projects destined for approval on one hand and paying consultants for ill-conceived projects on the other. The latest example of this is paying a quarter of a million dollars for the design of a traffic circle for the intersection of Kanan and Agoura roads.
