Simon Wiesenthal film will screen at Jewish academy
      The Conejo Jewish Academy will screen the documentary film "I Have Never Forgotten You- The Life and Legacy of Simon Wiesenthal" at 7:30 p.m. Mon., March 17 at the Westlake Village Cinema, 4711 Lakeview Canyon Road. Wiesenthal, who was an architect before World War II, changed his life after the war and dedicated himself to finding Nazi war criminals.

      Americans are ditching church in record numbers, and those who do attend are "church hopping" at a rising rate, according to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life. In every city in America there are more people at home on Sunday than those in church.

      Christian Church of the Hills will offer three special worship services starting Palm Sunday, March 16, when a guest choir will sing at the 10 a.m. service. The Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m. March 21. The Easter Sunday message by Pastor Dave Crouse, "The Power to Change Your Life," will be at 10 a.m. March 23.

Temple celebrates Neighborhood Shabbat

      Shabbat this past Friday was celebrated in six different homes in six different neighborhoods around the West San Fernando and Conejo valleys. Prayer services were led by regular Jews. Oneg Shabbat (sweet desserts) baked or bought, was enjoyed potluck-style. No need for the rabbi to lead services at temple, so what's a rabbi to do on such a Shabbat?
