Cellphones make guard very cross

This may sound like a nagging wife, but this is serious. I want to ask a favor of all the users of cellphones. I think this is the greatest invention this century since Alexander Graham Bell invented the house phone.

But let me explain my extreme disappointment in drivers not thinking with cellphones while driving. I've been a crossing guard for approximately seven years. They think that their conversation is more important than running through heavily-marked areas with a potential of hitting or killing a child and a guard.

So please use caution with your driving habits and your cellphones. "Happy trails to you" who observe the rules. Thank you from the crossing guard at Red Oak Elementary School. Morris Rousso Oak Park
