Supervisor ignored traffic impacts

After reading Supervisor Yaroslavsky's recent Acorn guest opinion, he failed to address any of my major concerns about the worsening traffic impact this project will have on Agoura Hills communities east of Old Agoura such as Hillrise, Morrison Ranch, and Oak Valley, where I live.

Not all families traveling to Heschel will be traveling west on the 101 Freeway to exit at Chesebro; some will be traveling east and exiting at Kanan or Reyes Adobe.

Oak Valley residents are landlocked at many times of the day due to traffic traveling east and west on Argos Street. All the traffic from Driver Avenue that travels between Kanan and Chesebro must utilize Argos. We are trapped many times on Valley Heights and Medea Valley, sitting in our cars waiting for an overly courteous driver to allow us to enter Argos.

Yaroslavsky is in denial about the current problem, and his vote to allow the situation to worsen stems from his failure to listen to those of us who are already adversely impacted by the current excess traffic each and every day.

Finally, I am insulted that without "discourse," Supervisor Yaroslavsky generally denied the conflict of interest issues raised by Jess Thomas and Larry Brown. Are there personal relationships between the supervisor, his office, and Heschel's attorney and staff? Did our Supervisor Yaroslavsky seek county counsel's advice as to whether he should recuse himself from voting on this project? Rebecca E. Arvizu Agoura Hills
