Chamber hosts 'Night of Champions'
MUSICAL CHAIRS- Deborah Sable replaces Gordon Luster as board chair of the Woodland Hills-Tarzana Chamber of Commerce. Rafer Johnson and other local Olympic champions helped celebrate the Woodland HillsTarzana Chamber of Commerce "Night Of Champions" dinner, installation of officers and sports entertainment night on Saturday at the Hilton Woodland Hills.
Attending the event were Johnson, winner of the 1960 Olympic decathlon; Frank Gorman, diving medal winner in 1964; Reynaldo Brown, winner of the high jump in the NCAA Division II championships in 1971 and 1973; and Woodland Hills resident Craig Howard Lincoln, 1972 and 2001 Olympic bronze medals for diving.
Other special guests honored were three participants in the Tri-Valley Special Olympics: Kristine Johnson, gold medal winner in World Games Gymnastics; Sherina Assomull, silver medal winner in bocce ball; and Mindy Zazanis, bronze medal winner in golf.
Deborah Sable, CEO of Corefit, was installed as the 2008 chair of the board. Outgoing chair Gordon Luster, general manager of Warner Center Marriott, was honored for his year of service.
