Animal friendly clothing company wins award

The nearly 300,000 Street Team members of Peta2- the world's largest youth animal rights organization- along with Peta2's nearly 800,000 enews subscribers, recently voted Calabasas-based Skelanimals the Best AnimalFriendly Clothing Company in Peta2's second annual Libby Awards.

The Libby (for "liberation") Awards honor animal-friendly people and products.

The brainchild of artist and designer Mitchell Bernal, Skelanimals' collection includes clothing, accessories, shoes, handbags, collectible toys, books, and perfume. What the collection doesn't include is fur, leather, or products tested on animals.

"Skelanimals clothing company is meeting Peta2 members' demand for fashions that are trendy, topquality, and animal-friendly," said Peta2 spokesperson Dan Shannon.

Skelanimals will receive a plaque and will be featured on www.Peta2.com.

Other award categories included Best New Fur Foe, Best Animal-Friendly Movie, and Best Vegan Meal.
