Viewpoint middle school math wizards receive national recognition

Six students from Viewpoint School in Calabasas will receive national recognition for their performance in the 2007 American Mathematics Competition8 contest.

Annie Christian of Calabasas ranked nationally in the 98th percentile among eighth graders and Evan Bernstein of West Hills in the 99th percentile among seventh graders. Both students will receive National Awards of Distinction, the highest honor given.

Eighth grader Victoria Bendersky of Agoura Hills and seventh graders Evan Zimmet and Elliot Roh, of Agoura Hills and Thousand Oaks respectively, will receive the second highest award, the National Honor Roll award.

Sixth grader Bradley Emi of Westlake Village will receive a National Merit Roll award. Bradley had the eighth highest score of all the 84 Viewpoint Middle Schoolers who participated in the contest.

Eighth graders Jason Flahie of Westlake Village and Peter Rubinstein of Woodland Hills won bronze medals.

The AMC8 is an annual competition that demonstrates student competency in middle school mathematical skills.
