Thanks, from Yerba Buena PFA I wanted to thank the city councils of Agoura, Calabasas, Hidden Hills and Westlake Village for their Four City Agreement to invest in our children's education by funding new technology. These vital funds bring technology to our classrooms as never before. Teachers in December alone were offered classes on IPhoto, Powerpoint, Podcasting, with plans in 2008 for Aeries, Elmo, Moodle and more. Imagine my surprise when my son created a Powerpoint presentation to persuade me to buy a dog. We have six children who will benefit from this infusion of technology in their educational journey, and we thank you for providing these vital tools to compete in the 21st century. As we approach a New Year, I also wanted to express my heartfelt thanks to those who helped our school launch our website YerbaBuenaElementary.org. To Ned Davis, Stuart Selter, Don Zimring, and especially Principal Brent Noyes, thank you for your vision and trailblazing leadership to make our website a reality. Thank you Nancy Minicozzi, Carol Smith, Jenny Kwan, our wonderful teachers, and our PFA volunteers who maintain and keep our information current, forging a beautiful partnership between home and school. I look forward to seeing updated websites at the other schools our older children attend as our district prepares to roll out websites to all Las Virgenes schools in 2008. When you teach a child, you teach a generation. Thank you for investing in our children today. Laura Leininger Yerba Buena PFA President |
