National Charity League presents debutantes

The Conejo Valley Chapter of National Charity League Inc. hosted its 26th annual National Charity League Ball recently at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. The mother/daughter community service organization formally presented 18 debutantes who had graduated from local high schools in June.

The ball, with the theme "Find Your Wings," is a celebration of the girls' six years of philanthropic service. The debutante ball gathers the families and friends of the chapter to honor the young women for their years of work. The debutantes are in their freshman year at college.

National Charity League is a nonprofit, mother/daughter organization supporting local community agencies and charity organizations. The daughters, along with their mothers, participate in a sixyear educational program of philanthropic work, leadership training, educational activities and cultural events.

The Conejo Valley Chapter assists more than 20 local philanthropies and is the owner and operator of Fibber McGee's Closet Thrift Shop, where girls and mothers are able to volunteer together.

In addition, all girls volunteer for the Conejo Recreation and Park District's annual Children's Festival of the Arts.
