Headset design wins award

Oak Park based-Iqua Ltd., a manufacturer of mobile communications accessories, announced that its Iqua SUN solar-powered Bluetooth headset was honored as a recipient of the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show Innovation Award.

The Iqua SUN is the first headset that uses any available light- outdoors and indoors- to extend the talk time of the headset.

The annual awards are judged by a panel of industrial designers, engineers and members of the independent trade press.

Recognized in the wireless handset accessories category, the Iqua SUN was praised for its combination of stylish design and ability to increase talk time and conserve energy by recharging the battery via its built-in solar cell.

The apparatus will be showcased in the Sands Expo and Convention Center during the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show Jan. 7 in Las Vegas.

The headset will be available for purchase in North America starting next month at a suggested retail price of $99.99.
