Highway patrol collects toys

The California Highway Patrol, West Valley Area, is collecting toys as part of its annual CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive. A booth has been set up at Northridge Fashion Center, 9301 Tampa Ave.

Donations will be accepted between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. through Mon., Dec. 24.

More than 160,000 toys were gathered last year and donated to nonprofit organizations throughout the state that directly serve underprivileged children and their families.

"We are proud to be a part of this program which will serve those who are less fortunate," said Capt. Stephen Webb, West Valley Area commander. "We look forward to another successful year working with the community and our partners to support needy families during the holiday season."
