Viewpoint seniors win 'Heisman' award

Brandon Mischel of Tarzana and Marisa Leonard of Westlake Village won the Wendy's High School Heisman Award on behalf of Viewpoint School in Calabasas.

The Heisman program also selected Brandon as one of 20 California State Finalists for the award, placing him among the top student-athletes in the nation.

Brandon and his parents will attend a banquet honoring the winners tomorrow in Oakland.

In September, the school's college counseling office invited seniors to apply for the award, which recognizes one girl and one boy from each contending school for their excellence in academics, athletics and community service or school involvement.
