'No' to Kanan roundabout

The current Kanan-Agoura Road intersection is far too small to accommodate a two-lane roundabout. Whether the roundabout will improve traffic flow is questionable.

True, drivers may be forced to reduce speed but, as experienced circle drivers know, this depends on traffic within the circle, and I've seen drivers accelerate on entering one to beat the flow.

More importantly, claiming accidents will decrease is not credible since nothing controls traffic better than a stoplight, except one with a cop.

Saying that "pedestrians visiting Agoura Village will be better protected with a roundabout versus a four-way light" suggests you're breathing your own exhaust. In a roundabout, cars slow down, perhaps, but do not stop. People in Agoura and its environs don't walk, they drive, so where are all these pedestrians and where are they coming from?

If you're concerned with better protecting pedestrians, then build overpasses, which would afford the best protection, enhance pedestrian flow and cost Agoura less money that might be better spent elsewhere.

The statement "following the lead of European cities, traffic circles have become increasingly popular in the U.S." is inappropriate and irrelevant to the specific situation at hand. Keep the four-way light. Build pedestrian overpasses. Spend the $200,000 elsewhere.
