Rising rents are a sign of the times Regarding your front page story, "Renter fed up with constant cost increases," haven't some of your readers asked for a raise from their boss? Haven't all of us who own cars noticed gas pump prices? Has anyone noticed that all costs, including taxes and utilities, have gone up and up? Suppose you are trying to secure the future for your family and you decide to make an investment in property. You are told that buying property for investment for future growth may be a good investment. But as with any investment there are some risks. For example, the laws don't stay constant--rent control is one example. Also, tenants can give short notice or no notice and move out. What is expected without surprise: roof repairs, plumbing problems, etc.
Most of us understand that when you buy the property and
try to keep up with increases in expenses, it is the cost of doing business. But
the cost of doing business only applies when the playing field is even. | |||||
