Westlake author shares her vision for a transformed world

Westlake Village author Jackie Lapin has a vision for change.

In her new book, "The Art of Conscious Creation, How You Can Transform the World," Lapin gives readers a step-by-step primer on how they can take charge of their own lives- and leave destiny out of the equation.

With those same tools, people can play a bigger role in shaping the future of the planet, Lapin says.

Lapin will offer a short talk and sign copies of her book from 6 to 7 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 6 at Borders bookstore in Thousand Oaks.

The book is a finalist for the USA Book Awards in the New Age category. It is Lapin's second publication.

"If you raise your personal energy vibration you are a powerful engine for change in your own life, in your immediate world and the planet," Lapin says. "You can begin manifesting what you want in your life, rather than unconsciously attracting things you don't want. When you become the architect of your own life, it is only a short step before you can then aid in creating a better world."

The book provides a number of scientific references as to how the management of personal energies, or "frequencies," can effect change in the world.

In her effort to rally the world to "consciously create" a better future, Lapin maintains a blog that spotlights acts of conscious creation and lauds those who are using their skills to become agents for positive change.

Prior to becoming an author, Lapin was a nationally respected media relations consultant and at one time operated one of the country's foremost sports, entertainment and special events PR firms with offices on both coasts.

Lapin, in addition to her work as an author, teaches "conscious creation" classes to audiences throughout the United States and abroad in which she demonstrates to motivated people how they can put their powers of transformation to work.
