Dogs lend an ear to young readers
      THERAPY PUPPIES- Calabasas resident Troy West, 4, reads a book out loud to Clifford, a therapy dog with Paws 4 Healing, at the Calabasas Library on Saturday. Troy gets a ittle help from handler Claudine Singer. The program allows children to read aloud to a therapy dog for 15 minutes.

Owner hopes loss of pet brings change
      On Friday night, Oct. 12, a coyote came into our yard and killed our 1½-year-old dog, a Coton de Tulear named Oliver, who we had rescued last January. A neighbor had heard something, come out of his house and scared a coyote away by shining a flashlight at it.
