Oak Park MAC, decisions by a few

First of all let me explain that I am in favor of community action groups. I do not have the patience, mediation skills nor the tolerance required to objectively listen to the constant bombardment from "the few" community whiners that habitually descend upon these public committee meetings as if they are a 12-step self-help group.

What happens to a community when "these few" happen to be members of the Oak Park MAC? I'm at a loss, but I don't believe any governing body should be able to make unilateral decisions for personal gain, personal agenda or because of personal inconvenience.

In an appalling move made by this committee, the life, safety and accessibility of a handicapped person is threatened in Oak Park. This Oak Park MAC Committee has revised and amended ordinance No. 4232 without clear thought except for their personal agenda. The ordinance blindly forgoes the rights of this handicapped person.

This is alarming. Supervisor Linda Parks needs to hear your readers' views. Jim Anderson Oak Park
