This reader avoids Kanan/101

I wholeheartedly agree with Ellie Beck and her comment about the confusing Canwood Street signs on Kanan Road.

I avoid the intersection of Route 101 and Kanan Road if at all possible. However, I recently had to visit Homewood Suites on Canwood. I phoned ahead to ask how to approach it from the eastbound offramp of the 101 Freeway. I was told to turn left onto Kanan Road and turn right at Canwood. To my amazement, the right turn was the westbound 101 offramp.

I am planning to host an outof-town visitor at Homewood Suites in December. You can be sure when I give them directions to the hotel, I will tell them to turn right onto Canwood Street, but turn right at the second Canwood sign, not the one at the offramp.

I wonder how difficult it would be to have that useless, confusing sign removed before a serious accident occurs there as the result of a wrong-way driver? Jeff Friedman Westlake Village
