No room for another school

We recently moved to Old Agoura because it is one of the last small communities left that embraces a rural way of life. Friendly neighbors, the smell of horses, open countryside are all things that should be desired before moving here. I take great interest in preserving this as construction and new homes fill every nook and cranny in Southern California.

I knew Driver Avenue supported three schools when we bought our house here. I know better than to travel on Driver just before the high school lets out because I've been stuck behind parents that stop and turn their cars off in the middle of the street to wait for their kids.

I am baffled at the thought that anyone can believe this area can support yet another school. I've seen numerous mentions of an area off Agoura road that could be an alternative site. I've driven by the area and see there are no private residences or schools to support. I've seen the question asked, "Why won't Heschel consider it?" But I have yet to see any kind of answer.

Can anyone answer it? I sure hope there is a good reason and not just a matter of "digging in their heels" without regard to the people that live here. Pat Colabella Agoura Hills
