Alliance awards grants to local groups

The Alliance for the Arts has awarded grants totaling $244,125 to 28 local arts groups that perform at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza on an annual basis.

The funding will assist organizations in presenting performances at the plaza.

Groups receiving grants are Agoura Hills Harmony Chorus, Arts Council of Conejo Valley, Cabrillo Music Theatre, Channelaire Chorus, city of Thousand Oaks Youth Commission, Concertos With Orchestra, Conejo Chinese Cultural Association, Conejo Civic Ballet Company, Conejo Pops Orchestra, Conejo School Foundation, Conejo Teen Video Festival Committee, Conejo Valley Adult School/Conejo Valley Children's Concert Series, Conejo Valley Harmony Oaks Chorus, Conejo Valley Youth Orchestras.

Also the Discovery Center for Science and Technology, Focus on the Masters, Gold Coast Wind Ensemble, KCLU Radio 88.3 FM, Keshet Chaim Dance Ensemble, Musical Theatre Guild, Music Teachers' Association of California Conejo Valley Branch, Pacific Festival Ballet Company, Performances to Grow On, Rangoli Foundation for Arts and Culture, Southern California Children's Theatre, Thousand Oaks Repertory Company, Viewpoint Educational Foundation and Village Voices Choral.

Funds for the grants program are raised from the Angels of the Alliance annual luncheon, a golf tournament and funds from the Alliance programming endowment.
