Kuperberg, Edelston good for Agoura Hills

Having served on the Agoura Hills City Council for the past two years with Dan Kuperberg and John Edelston, I can speak about them from a special perspective. With that knowledge, I enthusiastically endorse both for reelection.

Mayor Dan Kuperberg is always challenging us to look forward, anticipating and planning for Agoura Hills' future, with a great vision for our city. His care and concern for the protection of the environment is constant and consistent, and the basis of his values. And with such events as the Reyes Adobe Days and the Agoura Hills Reads programs, Dan succeeds in bringing our community together.

Mayor Pro Tem John Edelston has worked hard to reach out to all segments of the community to make sure everyone's voices are being heard. He was instrumental in the reemergence of our volunteer CERT, so important in these times of fires and other potential crises. John provides the necessary critical budget analysis to ensure our projects are onbudget and financially feasible.

Both Dan Kuperberg and John Edelston have a proven record of service to the residents of Agoura Hills and deserve your vote next Tuesday. Harry Schwarz Agoura Hills City Council

It is the political season in Agoura Hills and, once again, opponents of the City Council will say anything to get themselves elected. The flood of half-truths and misinformation will probably continue right up to election day.

Agoura Village was not discussed behind closed doors, but was probably the most publicized planning project in the city's history. Over a dozen public meetings and events were held and they were very well attended. I was there for almost every meeting. I saw neither of the current challengers attend or participate. Apparently, they would rather criticize after the fact than participate in the public decision process.

Agoura Village is not a project, but a specific plan that requires any proposed project to go through the city's entire planning process from the beginning, including public hearings. No development has yet been approved for Agoura Village.

Agoura Village does not increase developable land, but reduces it by reducing the footprint of buildings and parking lots. Approximately one third of the 135 acres in the Agoura Village Plan are designated for open space. By adopting the A.V. plan, the council has added over 30 acres of new open space that was previously designated for development.

I will be voting for Dan Kuperberg and John Edelston on Nov. 6. Ed Corridori Agoura Hills
