Opposes Klessig on health issue

In a recent interview of Philippa Klessig in the Oct. 18 Acorn, Ms. Klessig states she often hears of her constituents' concerns over the city not having a hospital. Her answer to that, and her direct quote from the interview, was "Maybe it is not as bad as we think. . . .Maybe we just need defibrillators." What? Excuse me?

Ms. Klessig also states, in that same interview, that she would like to bring an art museum to the area so that residents don't have to drive into Los Angels. I have to ask, what about the drive for medical assistance when one is ill and needing immediate attention?

In talking with my neighbors and friends, I find it is a great concern to them that our community is unable to offer health services for its residents. I feel this issue is one that should be of utmost importance to our community and should be at the top of the list for our City Council to rectify.

It sounds to me like Ms. Klessig sort of listens to her constituents, maybe if their priorities and concerns are hers. If not, oh well. Julie Thomas Westlake Village
