Chaminade sophomore earns rank of Eagle Scout

A WELL-DECORATED VETERAN- Erik Jordan Maki, 16, led a group of volunteers in constructing an outdoor bench which was then installed at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Westlake Village for his Eagle Scout project.
Erik Jordan Maki, 16, received the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouts, in a Court of Honor held at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Westlake Village.

He is the son of Roger and Kelli Maki of Agoura Hills.

For his Eagle project, Erik led a crew of 28 volunteers in the construction of a wood, steel and stone bench installed at the entrance plaza to the church.

Erik is an honor roll sophomore at Chaminade College Preparatory High School in West Hills. He participates in fencing and is a member of the Rock Music Appreciation and Culinary Arts clubs. He also served as the manager of the girls' varsity basketball team.

He holds a fourth-degree green belt in Tang So Do and is an altar server at St. Jude's.

He spent his summer working for the law firm of Bremmer, Whyte, Brown and O'Meara. Erik hopes to attend UCLA and become an attorney.
