Westlake Village accepting nominations
Citizens and youth to be recognized

The city of Westlake Village is accepting nominations for its annual Citizen and Youth recognition programs.

The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. Thurs., Jan. 31.

Individuals must be nominated by residents of Westlake Village.

Nominees will be considered based on their contributions toward the betterment of the community in areas such as academics, music, art, sports and community services.

A charity selected by the Citizen of the Year will receive a $500 donation. The Youth of the Year will receive a $500 scholarship.

The city also is accepting applications for its 2008 Community Services Grant Program.

Nonprofit and not-for-profit organizations that provide social services and cultural programs which benefit city residents can apply for grants of not less than $250.

Applications are available at city hall and must be submitted by 5 p.m. Thurs., Jan. 31.
